Elizabeth-Rose Amidjogbe

Overview

Elizabeth-Rose Amidjogbe is an international lawyer and has worked on a broad range of topics including governance, development, conservation, management, and legislation development. She, also, has played an integral role in negotiating international fisheries partnerships and agreements.

Her research centers on the European Commission’s (EC) IUU fishing regulation and its impact on fisheries management. The intention of this research is to clarify the existing knowledge on the IUU fishing regulation for third countries through analysis of EC’s decisions and changes in the third countries’ regulatory frameworks.

“My connection to the ocean stems from my ancestral link to the West African coastal. I follow the African tradition of Ubuntu – I am because we are. For me, it is a call to positively contribute by using my expertise to contribute to strengthening the fisheries management frameworks in developing countries.”
