In September 2026, Quentin Hanich, Ruth Davis and Hussain Sinan organised a training workshop for Indo-Pacific fisheries officials to strengthen cooperation, expertise and knowledge of RFMO delegations so that they can more effectively coordinate, cooperate and advocate for the conservation and management measures of transboundary fisheries. The workshop focused on the two largest Indo-Pacific tuna RFMOs (IOTC and WCPFC) and provided participants with a broader context and insights into precedents, opportunities and challenges. Participants engaged in facilitated cooperation exercises, attended expert seminars, and discussed strategy, governance, capacity building and institutional strengthening exercises.
